PRICE R150.00
The Amnesty International Report 2012 documents the state of human rights in 155 countries and territories in 2011.
Throughout the year the demand for human rights resounded around the globe.
The year began with protests in countries where freedom of expression and freedom of assembly were routinely repressed. But by the end of the year, discontent and outrage at the failure of governments to ensure justice, security and human dignity had ignited protests across the world.
In a year of unrest, transition and conflict, too many people are still denied their most basic rights. As demands for better governance and respect for human rights grow, this report shows that world leaders have yet to rise to the challenge.
Join Amnesty International and help build pressure for change!

Festival Dates: 7-23 September 2012
Participating Cinemas: Sterkinekor, Cinema Nouveau, The Bioscope
The 10th Tri Continental Film Festival, the largest festival of human rights cinema in Africa today, returns to screen at South Africa cinemas this September.
The beauty of Tri Continental Film Festival is the broad range of quality films from across the world. The festival celebrates its 10th edition and this year’s program will include a variety of past festival favorites in a special “best of” section, in addition to environmental and freedom of expression themed films. African film and the best shorts from Big Fish film academy are also headlining the program.
Festival tradition dictates having retrospectives and, this year to mark the completion of Micha X Peled’s anti-globalisation trilogy and to support the Western Sahara and Palestine fight for self-determination, there are a string of stunning documentary films.
